Cayden Casanova

–

Harrisburg, North Carolina

Cayden Morgan “Baby Nova” Casanova was born on October 28, 2007, in Charlotte, NC. From the moment he entered the world, his light and energy were undeniable. As a young boy, Cayden was full of curiosity, laughter, love, and an unshakable passion for sports. Baseball and football quickly became his greatest loves, and his parents proudly nurtured his enthusiasm, supporting him as he played on teams throughout his elementary, middle, and high school years.

Cayden brought immense joy to everyone he encountered. Whether he was in his favorite spot—on his mom’s hip—in the corner sucking his thumb, or engaging in a spirited dance-off with himself, he always managed to bring a smile to everyone’s face. Cayden excelled at everything he set his mind to. Whether it was school, sports, dancing, or his most recent passion—his car—he poured his heart into every endeavor. He cherished his independence, working hard at Panera Bread to keep his "fit" tight or add new gadgets to his car.

Cayden was a junior at Hickory Ridge High School with plans to enlist in the military after graduation. He aspired to become a real estate entrepreneur. A young man of many talents, countless dreams, and a future brimming with possibilities, Cayden lived life with vibrancy and purpose, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Cayden’s caring nature, unwavering loyalty, and determined spirit will forever be cherished by his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, perseverance, and love—a legacy that will continue to inspire and uplift those who had the privilege of knowing him.

On Saturday, January 18, 2025, Cayden’s vibrant light was forever dimmed, leaving an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who loved him. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Quentin “Tonga” Chavis; paternal grandparents Ralph & Sally Cassanova; and his big brother, Julian Casanova.

Cayden’s memory will be lovingly cherished by his devoted parents, Raphael Casanova and Cassandra Chavis Casanova; brothers, Christian Casanova and Cameron Casanova; maternal grandmother, Pamela Chavis; maternal aunts, Tanisha Chavis-Harris (Exabia) of Fairburn, GA and Kimberly Chavis-Clapp (Keisha) of Gastonia, NC; paternal aunt, Tammy Stratford (Wendell) of Staten Island, NY; paternal uncle Kevin Casanova (Marsha) of Fresno, CA and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you consider alternative ways to support them during this difficult time.

Cayden’s legacy of love, strength, and determination will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He was a beloved son, brother, nephew, teammate, and friend, and though his time with us was far too short, his impact will be felt for years to come.

Rest in peace, Cayden. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
