Jocelyn Darnell "Jossie" Crawford

–

Shelby, North Carolina

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jocelyn Sheelor "Jossie" Crawford, born December 1, 1977, in Greensboro, NC. Jocelyn graduated from Lincolnton High School in Lincolnton, NC. Following graduation she began taking college classes as Gaston County Community College. Jocelyn later became a Certified Public Accountant and Notary.

Jocelyn was a beacon of light in the lives of all who were privileged to know her. A woman of great ambition and resilience, she possessed a unique spirit that was as captivating as her smile. Jocelyn was a woman of God, gentle strength, and boundless compassion. Her life was a testament to God’s love — in her words, her actions, and the way she cared for others. She led by example by always pointing others toward Christ. Her humor knew no bounds, her laughter was infectious, and her generosity was the heart and soul of her extraordinary character.

Jocelyn was a natural caregiver, always putting others before herself. Her biggest joys in life came from her husband, Lucas Crawford, whom she married on February 17, 2009, and her loving nieces whom she loved dearly. Her deep spiritual walk permeated her life, illuminating her path with grace and wisdom. Jocelyn had a passion for writing, a hobby that allowed her to express her thoughts, dreams, and beautiful soul to the world. Her life was a testament to the words of Maya Angelou: "My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style."

Jocelyn is survived by her husband Lucas Crawford, her father Charles Sheelor and wife Alice Sheelor, her sisters La’Nessia Sheelor, Margarita Cranke, Kristen Sheelor, Natika Smith (Theodore) and nieces Nadia, Jordan, Aja, Jada, Sanaa, Aria, Kennady, Isabella and Camille. She is preceded in death by her mother loving Linda Ruth Sheelor (2013). Jocelyn's life will be celebrated with a public viewing on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Magnolia Funeral and Cremation Services. A visitation will take place on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at The River Church, followed by a Celebration of Life Service. Her life will be honored with committal and final rites at Sunset Cemetery on Monday, April 21, 2025.

Remembering Jocelyn, we are reminded that life is fleeting, but love is everlasting. Jossie will be extremely missed by so many that knew and loved her. We invite you to share your memories of Jocelyn and upload photos to the memorial page, in tribute to a life that truly was a blessing to all.

“The greater the difficulty, the greater the glory.”
