Paul Marchewka

–

Midland, North Carolina

It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we mourn the passing of Paul Douglas Marchewka, who left us on April 4, 2025. Born in Detroit, MI on November 7, 1939, Paul spent his vibrant life imbued with humor, wit, charisma, and unwavering support for those around him. His infectious laughter, engaging stories, and unmistakable charm were the hallmarks of a man who truly lived life to the fullest. His journey took him from Detroit, to California and finally to Midland, North Carolina, each place enriched by his energetic spirit.

Paul was a self-made man who built a successful career in the service industry. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to own several laundromats and dry cleaners before branching out to open a wholesale distribution company. Even in his semi-retirement in California, Paul's charismatic personality shined through as he worked as a shuttle driver for Toyota Carlsbad, turning ordinary journeys into unforgettable experiences. Paul was a beacon of resilience and determination, his accomplishments serving as a testament to his indefatigable spirit. He was an ardent football enthusiast, his passion for the sport rooted in his high school years where he played Varsity football at HWHS for all four years and graduated in 1957. This love for football became a cornerstone of his life, uniting family and friends in thrilling moments of camaraderie and shared joy.

Family was the cornerstone of Paul's life, his love for them as unwavering and passionate as his love for football. His beloved wife of 57 years, Marcia Marchewka, stood by his side through all life's triumphs and trials. He leaves behind his cherished daughters, Marnie Gallup, and Stacy Marchewka; his supportive brother Alan Marchewka and sister-in-law Lorraine Marchewka. His adoring grandchildren, Mason, Madison, and Garet Gallup will carry his memory in their hearts. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Eleanor and Paul Marchewka, his son Todd Marchewka, and his siblings Sharon, Francine, and Stephen Marchewka.

In celebration of the life of Paul Marchewka, we invite you to share your memories, stories, and photographs on the memorial page. Let us remember Paul not just for the life he lived but for the lives he touched, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave. His legacy is not just in what he achieved, but in the lives he enriched with his funny, witty, supportive, and charismatic persona.
