Theodore "Ted" Dombal

–

Fort Mill, South Carolina

Theodore "Ted" Dombal was lovingly welcomed into Jesus's arms on April 28, 2026. Born on January 23, 1943, in Passaic, NJ, Ted lived a life full of wit and humor, with the ability to touch the lives of everyone he met. His legacy is one of embracing the joy and humor in life, even amidst trials and tribulations.

Ted was a man who embraced life with open arms, always ready for the next adventure. He had multiple passions; he had a love for motorcycles and cars, hobbies that brought him an enormous amount of joy. He raced motorcycles when he was younger and spent significant time taking road trips on his beloved bikes. A man of laughter, he always had a funny story or a witty remark that could lighten any mood. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. His career took him in various directions, but his passion was always in systems. He had a technical, analytical mind that he applied while working and even into retirement.

Ted, who resided in Fort Mill, South Carolina at the time of his passing, lived in several places including New Jersey, Virginia, Massachusetts, Ohio, and North Carolina, spreading his unique charm everywhere he went. He leaves a lasting legacy, survived by his siblings Maryanna Murtagh and husband Joe, Larry Dombal, Daniel Dombal and his wife Kathy. He also had 6 nieces - Francis Tanis, Patti Dombal-Harden, Suzanne Mapes, Carol Caputo, Janet Leimkuhler, and Erin Gaboury; and 3 nephews - Larry Dombal, Jr., Greg Dombal and Brian Dombal; as well as several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Victoria Dombal.

In these moments of remembrance, we invite everyone who knew and loved Ted to share their memories and upload photos to his memorial page. This celebration of his life will serve as a testament to his incredible spirit, his generosity, and his unique ability to bring joy and laughter into our lives.

Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, somewhere very near, just around the corner. Play, smile, and think of me. Whatever we were to each other we are still.
